Any good recipes for fish? I really don't like fish at all but have to eat healthy food now.?

Ok, I know fish is healthy.

However, I do insist on flavor that blends well and covers up the fishy taste.

I'm not opposed to Emeril-type cooking or Louisana-style. Any ideas?Any good recipes for fish? I really don't like fish at all but have to eat healthy food now.?
Well if you're a cat you can eat canned tuna, lol.Any good recipes for fish? I really don't like fish at all but have to eat healthy food now.?
Fish isn't really that healthy, once you count the mercury and other toxins found in them. Basically, everything we dump into the oceans and rivers is filtered through the fish and concentrated. The FDA warns you should have no more than one serving of tuna a month, just for example. Certain fish raised in certain places/conditions are still okay, but you should research it first.

As for hiding the taste of fish? Not gonna happen unless you smother it in fat and spices or fry it and thats not exactly healhty, is it? Pan searing and oven roasting are the only two healthy ways to eat meat and if you don't like how fish tastes, that won't work.

My suggestion: forget the fish and learn to use tofu and vegetables. If you must, a very lean chicken breast is just as healthy as fish. And all those magical omega fats you think you've read about existing only in fish can be found in flax seed oil (good on salads) and other sources in combinations.

Don't eat fish if you don't like it. There is no good reason to, and if you try to force yourself into ';healthy eating'; that you hate, you are more likely to fail.
fresh the fresher the better. salmon on the grill nothing fancy garlic olive oil lemon zest salt pepper. if you don't do olive oil find an oil with a high smoke temp. grape seed is good. check labels for hydrogenized YOU DON'T WANT THAT. a little butter or margerine for flavor and moisture lay it out on some fiol. it should be firm not dry so whatch it.
Ok I just had fish last night. it was great. all u do is pick out a great salmond. then you bake it in butter for about 1.5 hours then you put bread crumbs over it. and you can make potatoes and veg. with it. It is excellent.
I disagree with the poster that said fish is bad because of mercury. First off fish contains Omega 3s which are beneficial to the body, and mercury is found in a lot of the older fish , the big tunas, sword fish etc, where Salmon contains no mercury at all. Most fish do not have a ';fishy'; taste if cooked right, they shouldn't smell to the point you want to cover your nose , if they do, the fish isn't fresh and you shouldn't eat it anyway.

I enjoy salmon, tuna, red snapper, and much more, baked or pan seared , with olive oil, garlic, some orange juice , a little soy sauce and sugar, mmmmmmm
first if the fish smells it's old don't eat it.

Simple and tasty. Get cod or other white fish and saute in Italian salad dressing each side aboe 2-3 minutes. you can coat it if you like.
Ok, This one's a winner!

Serves 6.
salmon steak. 1 cloves minced garlic, 1 tbls brown sugar, 1 tbls chili powder, 1 tsp. lemon juice, 1 tsp. orange rind, mix. rub into salmon steak. cook at 350 degrees 10 minutes per inch. it's so good. serve with 1 cup brown basmati rice and 2 tbls chicken stock cubes and 2 cups water. bring to a boil for 1 minute, cover and let simmer 30 minutes. throw in some brocolli. oh it's so good!
well i sometimes take fish, soak it in water, put it in a bowl of flour, and then fry it on olive oil....you can add some veggies while you're doing it...remember to add pepper and salt...
I'm not a big fish eater either but both of my children love it so I do fix it for them. I usually use tilapia or whiting because it doesn't have that real fishy smell. I like to make oven packs using tin foil.

1 piece of fish

2-3 fresh lemon slices

fresh spices (basil, rosemary, dill...whatever you like)

salt and pepper to taste

slices zuchini or squash

sliced onion

any other veggie that may interest you.

Spray tin foil with pan spray to food from sticking. Add fish, lemon, spices and veggies. Roll foil pack up and place on a baking sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.

Be careful when opening packet, the steam will be hot.

Enjoy
You just need to pick the right fish!

Tuna steaks don't taste too fishy, they're more like steak.

I personally like Salmon and you can disguise it by cooking it with fresh chilli and putting it on top of a healthy stir fry.

If you use a light white fish like cod or haddock, you could hide it in a tomato sauce with pasta. Could make a nice fish type lasagne.

Unfortunately oily fish is the best for you, but they all smell and have that distinct taste. I do like fresh sardines on the bbq though and I guess you could eat it with a tomato salsa?!
I got this recipe from the grocery store. take a filet of Basa (it's an inexpenisve fish) and add picante sauce, breadcrumbs, and shredded cheese on top. Bake on 350 for about 25 minutes. It does not even taste like fish.
